This is not as straight forward as you would want this to be.  Though there are tools which can help the process, but initial effort would involve some manual hard work to look into your competitors keywords. Though this might sound little unexpected or unwanted, but it is not that discouraging given the supportive tools helping you with this.

Also, here are the tools which you can use for adding and enabling your competitor keyword analysis:

  • As you yourself must have put your keywords through an HTML code, there must be a similar one for your competitor as well. Find that for his website and find out the keywords used there.
  • Another well known method and tool for this is Screaming Frog Spider software. This can be downloaded easily and it would be helpful with lot more information and data which might help you in best possible keyword optimization at your end.
  • A third and handy one is Google keyword planner tool as this is free of cost available as you have already signed upto Google account by now. To use this, first you need to login to ‘Google AdWords’>  go to ‘keyword planner’  >  go to ‘find new keywords’ . Next select search tab, this opens up a form, go to ‘your landing page’ and enter the competing webpage and then go to ‘ Get Ideas’. Post this, it would take a while to generate  the results and then select ‘keyword ideas ’ tab and see the results for competitor keywords.

This short effort can really add to your website traffic even by pulling end users form the competitor business. Hence this becomes a strong and useful acquiring mechanism.
